Junior to Watch: Derek Lee
School: Bakersfield, Calif.

Position: Wide Receiver
Size and Speed: Lee stands 5-foot-11 weighs in at 175 pounds and runs the forty in 4.5.
Honors: Lee was selected all-league as a special teams performer his junior season.
Statistics: Bakersfield head coach Jason Oliver didn’t have Lee’s stats but said he led the team in receptions.
Favorite Colleges: Lee is getting looks from Cal, ASU, Washington State, Oklahoma, Fresno State, San Diego State, UNLV and Colorado State.
Skinny: “Derek is an electrifying player,” Oliver said. “He does a lot of things that help a team.”
Lee is a great all-around athlete who also starts on the Bakersfield varsity basketball team that won the area crown.
“Derek is very competitive and he hates to lose,” Oliver said.
Lee once again will return punts and kicks. He will definitely play some defensive back too.
“Derek has the ability to get in space very quickly,” Oliver said. “He has that explosive burst that causes separation with a defender.”
Lee will also get get looks for his skills in basketball.
