Cali 09 QB lands first offer

There is a solid group of quarterbacks out West as part of the class of 2009 and one already drawing a lot of attention is Oceanside (Calif.) El Camino's Colton Morrison. The San Diego native has one offer on the table and is hearing from a host of other schools as well.
Morrison, 6-5, 180 pounds is a big, strong quarterback who impressed last Spring at the NorCal NIKE Camp as well as various summer 7 on 7 passing tournaments. The signal caller can get the ball down the field and has nice mobility for a quarterback of his size.

Morrison played at Carlsbad as a sophomore before transferring to El Camino for his junior season. With UCLA commit Nelson Rosario spread out wide, Morrison should put up big numbers this season.
On the recruiting front, Morrison picked up his first offer from San Diego State.
"I was excited because San Diego State is the local school and it's always good to get that first one," Morrison said. "I've also been hearing from I've been hearing from Cal, Purdue, Washington, Oregon, Wisconsin and a little bit from Notre Dame as well.
"As for naming a favorite, I'm really open right now. I've been looking at schools who run the spread offense and throw a lot, cause I love running that type of offense. I've been lookin at Texas, Oregon, Nebraska, and Washington, but i don't have any favorites right now.
"For me, playing time is going to play a big role in what college I choose. The location doesn't really bother me, I just want to go to a college where I could play as much as possible."
