Calhoun raves about time at UCLA

Derik Calhoun did not have a good day at UCLA this weekend. The 2014 linebacker from El Cerrito, Calif., called it something else.
"My day was perfect," Calhoun said.

"Coach (Jeff) Ulbrich, the linebackers coach, was really good. I was with Dwight Williams and some other linebackers and we had a really good time."
It's no secret that the 6-foot, 215-pound linebacker has UCLA high on his list and it seems the Bruins' coaches wanted to see if he wanted to commit early.
Calhoun decided to hold off because his recruitment continues to pick up but the four-star linebacker said the Bruins are definitely one of his favorites.
"They were pushing for an early commitment a little bit but they were really focused on finishing up their 2013 class so they're just taking it one day at a time," Calhoun said.
"They're in my top three for sure. Arizona State and Washington are the other two as of right now but it could change."
New offers have arrived from Arizona, Nebraska and Boise State so things continue to stay busy for Calhoun, who said Oregon State and a few other Pac-12 schools are showing more interest.
In total, Calhoun has landed offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Nebraska, UCLA, Utah and Washington.
UCLA definitely showed Calhoun what he wanted to see this past weekend - and he was seen wearing a UCLA sweatshirt at the Bruins' basketball game - but he's not ready to end things this soon after signing day.
"I'm not going to rush," Calhoun said.
