Calcaterra lands Big 12 interest

Grant Calcaterra had a very productive junior season at Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic and now a lot more interest and offers are coming in. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound prospect has landed offers from Illinois, Purdue and Central Michigan so far and a bunch of Pac-12 programs are showing interest in the 2017 recruit originally from the Cincinnati area.

WHAT'S NEXT?: The next step for Calcaterra is more of what he's been doing - taking visits, getting in touch with coaches and then more offers should be coming in over the next few months. UCLA and Arizona State are two programs that are getting more involved and the 2017 recruit has taken unofficial visits to both places recently. With the exposure at Santa Margarita and a strong junior season, more offers should be coming.
IN HIS WORDS: "I've been getting some interest from Oklahoma through a connection I have with one of my coaches," Calcaterra said.
RIVALS' REACTION: There is no question that Calcaterra would consider going back to the Midwest to play college football which opens up the Big 10 and other conferences as viable options. But it seems like a Pac-12 school would be ideal for the 2017 prospect and many are showing interest. With a big offseason, Calcaterra could see his recruitment take off.
