Cal to offer Houston WR

The Woodlands (Texas) receiver Alex Tweedy will be waiting patiently by his mailbox next week.
Tweedy is the city of Houston's top returning receiver in 2008, and has been offered by Army, Navy, Colorado State and verbally by Northwestern.

So why will be stalking the mailman next week?
"We've been corresponding a lot with California assistant coach Kenrick Thompson, who was at practice the other day," father Shane Tweedy said. "He loves Alex and says that the offer letter goes out on Monday. What better place for a receiver to go than to Cal and play for Coach (Jeff) Tedford."
The 6-foot, first-team all-district selection had more than 750 yards receiving last season and eight touchdowns. He also returns kicks and punts, and will play the cover corner position this season when necessary.
"Cal is at the top of the list and it is something we would probably take advantage of pretty quickly," Tweedy said. "Cal lost several receivers after last season and Alex would have a great opportunity there."
