Cal to land 2008 standout

Not only is Cal rolling on the field but they're doing very well off of it as well. This years recruiting class is shaping up to be very strong and at worst, a top 25 class nationally. Now the Bears are on the verge of landing one of the state's top offensive lineman in the class of 2008.
Chico (Calif.) Pleasant Valley offensive lineman Tyler Rigsbee was recently offered a scholarship from the Bears and will commit shortly after the season.

"It's a done deal, he's going to Cal," Pleasant Valley coach Sterling Jackson said. "Tyler just wants to wait until after the season is over so he can go down there and do it in person. Right now, he's really just focusing on our season and finishing strong as we head to the playoffs.
"Cal is where Tyler has always wanted to go, you could say it's his dream school. He told me that he didn't care who offered him, as soon Cal offered, he was going to jump on it and that's what he's doing. He has gone to their summer camps the last three years and just really likes it there. A lot of players from this area have gone to Cal including quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Aaron's younger brother Jordan is actually our starting quarterback here.
"Cal is building a nice pipeline in to this area and Tyler is definitely looking forward to continuing that. He's really a very good prospect with a ton of upside. He's so smart and really understands the game. His dad was the OL coach at Butte JC (Calif.) for years and is one of the best line coaches I've ever been around. So Tyler already has a great understanding of the game and is so advanced technique wise.
"He's a very solid run and pass blocker and has great feet. He plays basketball and I think that has really helped with his quickness. He's a natural left tackle, that's where he has played here and that's where Cal likes him. He has the frame to continue to get bigger and combined with his smarts and athleticism, he's a great looking prospect."
