Cal offer surprises Shelton-Mosley

Justice Shelton-Mosley had just wrapped up an unofficial visit to UCLA when his coach received a phone call from the Cal coaching staff with really good news.
The Sacramento (Calif.) Capital Christian three-star receiver later talked with Cal assistant Pierre Ingram and the Golden Bears were ready to offer.

It's definitely huge for Shelton-Mosley, one of the top receivers at the recent RCS Northern California.
"We were walking down here on Venice Beach and coach Ingram called my coach and he started talking to him and then he gave me the phone and we talked for a little bit," Shelton-Mosley said. "That's when he offered me.
"I was ecstatic about it. I'm definitely going to put it in the running with the decision I make. It's a great academic school, great alumni that can take care of you and a great location in the Bay Area so it's definitely going to be in my decision.
"The location is perfect for my family to come watch games so that all helps with the decision I make."
The offer was a surprise. The Sacramento Capital Christian receiver recently met with the Cal staff and didn't get the idea that an offer was close. It came though and now the Golden Bears will definitely be under serious consideration.
"Cal has been recruiting me since my sophomore year with Nifae (Lealao) committing there and everything," Shelton-Mosley said.
"I didn't expect it to tell you the truth. I just sat down with coach (Sonny) Dykes last week and he talked to me and said they're going to have to debate and have staff meetings about it and it popped out of the blue. That was great."
Shelton-Mosley visited UCLA's practice on Wednesday and he's supposed to return to talk with coach Jim Mora on Thursday. He was impressed by the trip and is now waiting to hear about an offer.
"I went to the practice (Wednesday) morning," Shelton-Mosley said. "Westwood is beautiful. It's definitely a nice place. I meet with coach Mora (Thursday) and we'll see how it goes."
