COSTA MESA, Calif. - Trent McDuffie received more good news recently from another Pac-12 school as the 2019 three-star athlete keeps landing offers.

Cal is the newest school to offer McDuffie, a speedy receiver who is also a talented defensive back. He had been talking to the Golden Bears staff for about a week and then landed the offer.

And the Anaheim (Calif.) Servite two-way standout already has a unique connection to the school that could play in its favor.

“I’ve been speaking to them for about a week now,” McDuffie said after his Servite team recently beat Orange Lutheran. “We’ve been talking back and forth. (Thursday) night they finally called me, asked me a bunch of questions and offered me a scholarship.

“I know a pretty good amount. My grandfather and my uncle actually graduated from there so I know a good amount about them.”

The 2019 three-star has also received early offers from USC, Notre Dame and Utah. Since he’s not even through his junior season, McDuffie said no schools are standing out.

“They all have a lot of interest in me but they’re all kind of together,” McDuffie said. “All three are great schools, all of their academics are pretty good and right now I’m weighing it out and seeing how it goes.”

New interest has been coming in from Washington as well.
