Cal more interested in four-star WR

Darius Powe had a top four with Michigan, Utah, UCLA and Oregon State on his list but recently Cal starting showing more interest in the Lakewood, Calif., wide receiver and things are picking up quite well.
Powe, a four-star prospect, was expected to have an in-home visit with Cal coaches on Thursday and then he's supposed to visit Berkeley on Dec. 9 when the Golden Bears are having a big recruiting weekend.

"They're showing more interest," Powe said. "They're talking to me again and I'm going up there in December.
"They'll be in my top five. I like the location and the offense a lot."
The 6-foot-2, 186-pound prospect has already taken an official visit to Oregon State and he liked it a lot especially because Lakewood teammate Malik Gilmore, a three-star wide receiver, has already committed there.
Powe said Gilmore's decision to play at Oregon State could influence him later on but he also wants to see what the other schools in his top five say throughout the remainder of his recruitment.
"It was good at Oregon State," Powe said. "I had fun. It was a nice community and stuff like that. I like that my friend is going there."
Other than his visit to Cal next weekend, Powe is also expected to visit Utah on Dec. 16. No other trips have been scheduled at this time but he would be open to taking other trips before making his pledge.
In his senior season, Powe finished with 33 receptions for 516 yards and eight touchdowns. Rivals.com rates the Lakewood standout No. 41 at wide receiver and No. 248 in the 2012 class.
