Cal lands sleeper

The Cal Bears have scored again with sleeper offensive lineman Kyle McClure (6-7, 238) from Westlake (Calif.) Oaks Christian.
Oaks Christian is a relatively new school with ambitions plans to be a top elite athletic school. The school is coached by Bill Riddell who coached former Bear great Russell White in high school when he was at Encino (Calif.) Crespi.

Riddell has won at every coaching stop. After Crespi, Riddell coached at La Canada (Calif.) Saint Francis and now he’s building the football program at Oaks Christian.
This is an interesting get for Cal. It reminds Pac10Recruiting of the type of raw players that the Oregon Ducks would develop into solid football players. Of course was where new Cal head coach Jeff Tedford was formerly employed.
While the committal has been confirmed by the school (and they are thrilled for McClure), Oaks Christian athletic director Jan Hetchcock or head coach Bill Riddell were not available.
As soon as Pac10Recruiting talks to Hetchcock or Riddell we will have more specific information for you regarding McClure.
Stay tuned…
