The player in question is linebacker Greg Van Hoesen (6-2, 215, 4.6) from Saratoga, Calif. Van Hoesen had an outstanding racking up 92 tackles and eight sacks. His performance was good enough to be selected all-league and his league’s linebacker of the year.
Cal won the services of Van Hoesen over Washington State, Oregon State and Oregon.
Cal is fast gaining the reputation of having a staff of skilled talent evaluators. The Pac10 could have another sleeping giant on their hands.
