Cal lands NorCal OL

Cal is on a nice recruiting run right now and added another piece to the puzzle in Fresno (Calif.) San Joaquin Memorial offensive lineman Matt Laird.
"I committed on my visit this past weekend," Laird said. "I've liked Cal for a long time and always said if they offered me, that's where I would be going. It's just a great program with so much going for it right now. They're not just a program on the rise, they're already there. They're a top five team and brining in some great players, I really don't see them dropping off any time soon."
Laird, 6-7, 275 pounds caught our eye at the NorCal Nike Camp and has a very nice upside to him. He has a long, lean frame that should have no problem adding another 20 pounds or so to it. He has good feet, moves well and did a very nice job in the position and one on one drills at the Nike Camp.
"Fresno State and Sac State had also offered me," Laird said. "I camped at Fresno State and liked them a lot too but Cal was basically my dream school. Not just from a football standpoint but academically as well. Plus my teammate Josh Lewis is going there and it's always good to be going somewhere with a friend and someone I know really well already."
