Cal interests 2015 defensive end

Cal had a terrible season but that's not holding back any kind of interest from Cody Baker, who said he realizes the team is young and has a lot of potential in the years to come.
The 2015 defensive end from Bellevue (Wash.) Eastside Catholic recently took an unofficial visit to Berkeley and said he liked it a lot. The Golden Bears only won one game this season but Baker is not at all concerned about it.

"The Cal visit went well," Baker said. "I got to go down to the locker room and on the field so that was really cool.
"It's more of an opportunity. They struggled but they had a lot of underclassmen who start. They have the most underclassmen who play in the Pac-12 this year and that's a sign that the program is coming up so I'm still interested."
Wyoming is the lone offer so far for Baker, who said Cal has not addressed an offer yet but the coaches said they will definitely keep tabs on him and see him soon.
The 2015 defensive end said he could take another trip to Berkeley this spring and he's hopeful the coaches come down to check on him as well.
"They didn't talk about an offer yet," Baker said. "They want to see how I do in the spring. I'll probably take another visit down there in the spring and we'll see how it goes."
Baker's junior season continues this weekend in a big showdown against powerhouse Bellevue. Last weekend, Eastside Catholic did a nice job shutting down Seattle (Wash.) O'Dea and the 2015 prospect was a big factor in the win.
"We stopped their running game," Baker said. "They only had 220 yards rushing the whole time. It was really good. I played well. I think I had seven tackles."
