Cal gives Cali DB lots to think about

Long Beach Poly (Calif.) defensive back Herman Davidson talked to us briefly as he boarded a plane heading back home from his visit to Cal. From the sounds of it, the Bears made a very good impression on the talented safety.
After previously checking out Oregon and North Carolina, Davidson, a 6-3, 215 pound safety was in Berkeley this past weekend to check out Cal.
"I had a great time and they went ahead and offered me on Saturday," Davidson said. "I had my meeting with Coach Tedford and he offered me there and said he think I would fit in really well in their defense.
"I just really enjoyed myself there. The campus is beautiful, and the school is close to home but still far enough away to feel independent. They like me at safety and said they like my size and speed. The coaches also said if I come in and put in the work, I would have a chance to start next season.
"Devin Bishop was my host and we got along well. Cal is still on a break so I didn't get to meet all the players but still met a lot. Right now, I'm pretty high on Cal. I still have Miami set up for this weekend but I'm going to go home and really start to think about my decision and where I'll fit in the best."
