Cal gets four-star daily double

Many expected the fireworks to come after Cal completed its California Elite Camp on Saturday, but the Bears picked up two monster commitments on Friday. The first commitment came from four-star offensive linemen Alex Crosthwaite, but then it was quickly followed by a pledge from one of the nation's top linebackers.
After day full of visiting the Cal campus with his mother, four-star linebacker Nick Forbes of Frederick (Md.) Thomas Johnson committed to the Bears.

"Yes, I've committed to Cal," Forbes confirmed through a text message with Rivals.com late Friday night. "I'm a Bear."
Forbes is expected to participate in The California Elite Camp in Berkeley on Saturday. He will be joined by other high-profile prospects like Gabe King, Owamagbe Odighizuwa, Chris McCain, Keenan Allen, Maurice Harris, Curtis White and others.
Many Cal observers thought there would be a good chance for Forbes to commit after he completed his visit to Berkeley, but he apparently was wowed enough during the campus tour and meeting with the coaches on Friday to go ahead pull the trigger.
However, many others had pegged West Virginia, where his sister goes to school, and Virginia Tech as the teams to beat.
Forbes is ranked as the nation's No. 7 outside linebacker and a member of the Rivals250. As a junior, Forbes rushed for 1,075 yards on offense, but racked up 96 tackles, six tackles for a loss and four sacks on defense.
