Cal Bears land a good one

The Cal Bears have gone a long way to improve their defense in a year from now with the verbal committal of Fresno City College standout cornerback Rodney Woods (5-10, 180, 4.40).
Woods is a superb talent who will also help the Bear cause as a punt returner. He is a tremendous hitter and has a nose for the football.

In 7 games for FCC, Woods has been in on 26 tackles, 4 pass breakups and one interception, returned 28 yards. As a punt returner, Woods has 15 for 207 yards (longest 54) an average of 13.8 per return.
Woods played his high school football at Little Rock, Calif., and has overcome some off-field problems to get a scholarship from Cal.
Once again Cal is showing an astute eye for talent.
Rivals will have more on this outstanding player who has turned his life around later.
Great get for the Bears one of the surprise teams this recruiting season.
