Cal and Arizona offer NorCal TE

Cal scored big a year ago landing EA SPORTS Elite 11 quarterback Kyle Reed out of Oakland (Calif.) McClymonds. The Bears aren't done recruiting the Warrior program and have already offered three players from the program including standout tight end NaDerris Ward.
Ward, 6-5, 245 pounds attended Cal's camp a year ago and was voted MVP among the tight ends.

"Cal and Arizona have both offered him and Nebraska is close," McClymonds head coach Alonzo Carter said. " NaDerris is a big time player with good hands and he can really run. He needs to get stronger but he's a great athlete and plays on the basketball team here. Everyone is recruiting him right now. He's hearing from USC, Washington, Miami, Georgia, UCLA plus several others.
"We just talked today about who his favorites are and he told me he really likes Cal, Georgia, Arizona, UCLA, and Michigan. He was supposed to go to UCLA's Junior Day but he couldn't make it but he will camp with them. John Embree (UCLA TE coach) has been recruiting our kids since they were sophomores and knows them all pretty well. He'll probably go to Cal's camp again too."
Ward also sees time at defensive end but is getting recruited primarily at tight end. He'll attend the Nike Camp in Stanford in May.
Editors Note: Since we published this article, we received a call from Coach Carter at McClymond's to let us know that Nebraska just offered Ward as well.
