Cager ending recruitment

The 2015 recruiting class is nearing its end and many highly rated prospects are working on finding their home for college. Towson (Md.) Calvert Hall wide receiver Lawrence Cager will be committing on January 3 but it doesn't sound like it will be the end of his recruitment.
"I'm not ready to commit but I see spots are filling up quick and I don't want to end up in a position I don't want to be in," said the 6-foot-5, 200-pound Cager. "I'm talking to my parents about taking visits after I commit. I would most likely take one or two visits.

"If I haven't officially visited the school I commit to, they'll get one of my last official visits," he said. "To make sure I'm choosing the right school, the runner-up would get my last visit."
Cager will be choosing from five hats.
Alabama- "I talk to coach Kiffin and coach Napier a lot about how I could play," said Cager. "If I come in and work hard from day one like coach Kiffin expects me to, he thinks I could play as a freshman. I talk to coach Saban and we're building a good relationship."
Georgia- "They're supposed to offer me," he said. "They said they're going to. I just talked to coach Richt the other day. They're stressing the wide receiver position this year and they'd like to have me and my good friend Van Jefferson as teammates down there. When coaches leave it has some impact but really if I commit to the school I like the school because I could see myself there, not because of the coach. Coaches in college can go at any time."
Miami- "I took an unofficial visit there one time," Cager said. "I talk to coach Golden and coach Carroll almost every day. We're building a strong relationship."
Ole Miss- "I was supposed to take an official visit there," he said. "The only reason I couldn't go was because my father wasn't able to go with me. I talk to coach Heard a lot and Drew Richmond has been recruiting me too. Ole Miss had a good year this year and so did their wide receiver have had success. Donte Moncrief is in the NFL and Laquon Treadwell is going to be in the NFL so that's key."
Virginia Tech- "Coach Beamer and coach Moorehead have been recruiting me since I was a freshman," he said. "I've really been building a relationship with them for four years and constantly building a relationship with coach Moorehead. I can't even count the number of time I've talked to coach Moorehead. I've built a strong relationship with them."
Cager says those aren't the only five schools in contention for his final decision.
"I'm still considering Wake Forest but I was told I can't have that many hats on the table," said Cager. "I think each school is equal right now and Wake Forest isn't lagging behind. It's a great school, especially academically, where you can play in the ACC and play against schools like Florida State and Clemson. You can put you're name on the map there but also get a strong degree that can take you anywhere in the workforce."
As for next Saturday, Cager has not made up his mind yet.
"There isn't one team that is sticking out," he said. "These are really the ones that I'm considering. There are a couple of schools in my mind but I need to talk to my family about before I commit. I'll probably silently commit to a school beforehand so it won't be a surprise to everybody."
Last season, Cager helped Calvert Hall win seven games.
