Byrum talks NC State, ODU visits

Virginia Beach (Va.) Tallwood safety Christian Byrum has taken visits to NC State and Old Dominion over the last couple of weeks and those are two schools close to his heart.
This is because these two schools are the two schools have given him two of his four offers, with the others coming from Wisconsin and Charlotte, an upstart program from his home state.

"NC State was good. It was very eye opening for me," Byrum said. "It was the first Division I college I have visited so I liked it a lot. It was a junior day there. First we viewed the weight room and after that they gave us a tour on campus. We saw the library and the dorms, stuff like that.
"The new coaching staff is cool. I like all of them. All of them were very energetic and they talked to us a lot. They showed us a lot of love."
At Old Dominion it was not a junior day, but simply an unofficial visit. Byrum and some other prospects from his area were given a tour of their football facilities and spoke with the coaches.
While Byrum is very interested in both schools he does not have any favorites yet. West Virginia, Wake Forest and Boston College are amongst the other schools recruiting him.
When it comes to Wisconsin, the 6-foot-1, 195-pound defensive back received an offer from the Badgers because new assistant coach Chris Beatty knew Bynum from previous stops.
Last fall Byrum totaled 65 tackles and two interceptions.
