Byrd talks official visits

Four-star wide receiver Damiere Byrd performed well at Friday Night Lights not too long ago, but he was regarded as one of the top prospects in New Jersey long before that.
Plenty of schools have been heavily recruiting Byrd for a long time and he has devoted much of his attention to trimming his list.

Not too long ago the 5-foot-9, 160-pound prospect from Sicklerville (N.J.) Timber Creek trimmed his list down a good bit, and the schools still left standing were Cincinnati, Florida, Iowa, Ole Miss, Oregon, Pitt, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. He has already visited some of those schools. Those he hasn't will be rolling out the red carpet soon enough.
"Right now I'm gonna take officials to whatever schools I haven't been to yet, and then I'll make my decision," Byrd said.
"I haven't been to Ole Miss, Pitt, West Virginia or Iowa. I think that's about it."
Those are the four schools that it appears Byrd will officially visit. He didn't rule out the possibility of taking a fifth visit, though he isn't sure where he would go yet.
Byrd said he enjoyed himself recently at Florida. He wished he had been able to catch more balls in the 7-on-7 competitions but he believes he ran good routes and performed well. He said he is done with the recruiting process for the summer.
