Byrd: Needs time to contemplate

Ft. Bend (Texas) Hightower offensive tackle Tyrone Byrd has a long trip back from Stillwater, Okla., to Houston this afternoon. And after an impressive official visit to Oklahoma State this weekend, the Miami commitment said he’s going to need that time to think things over.
“This opens up more thoughts for me,” said Byrd, a three-star offensive tackle that is 6-foot-6 and 260 pounds. “I’m going to have to go home and contemplate. I’m probably more confused than I was before.”

Byrd originally said he was going to visit OSU this weekend to only compare another school to Miami, the school he’s been committed to for more than a few months. But the visit did make a bigger impression that he thought.
“It was good,” he said. “I like the whole environment. The only thing I was disappointed with was that there weren’t any students there. It was a mellow time, and that was pretty cool. But it would have been a little better to see some real students.
“But other than that I liked every part of the visit and felt really at home on campus. I just now need some time to think things over, but no I didn't commit to Oklahoma State. I need to think things over, though.”
