Byrd hoping to turn season around

Fort Bend (Texas) Hightower offensive lineman Tyrone Byrd is a little down on the opening of his football season.
“We lost our game,” the 6-foot-5, 252-pound Byrd said. “We just didn’t play well all over. It wasn’t a very pretty sight. Hopefully we can get the mistakes fixed and play better the next game.”

Byrd is planning on focusing on his senior season of football before worrying about the recruiting process.
“I’ve had a lot of schools call,” the three-star rated tackle said. “Notre Dame, Iowa and Oklahoma State have called this week. I’m sure there will be others. I enjoy talking with the coaches. They are interested in what his going on here and how my season is coming along.”
Other schools on Byrd’s list include Oklahoma, Nebraska, Colorado and Pittsburgh.
Byrd won’t be look too closely at schools while his season is going on.
“I don’t want to short any school,” he said. “I want to be able to focus on each of them and give them all the attention I can. I will take my visits when our season is over. Until then, I’ll continue to answer the phone and talk with the coaches when they call.”
