Buzz builds around Bethel

Glen Bethel's seven scholarship offers are likely only the start of his recruitment. A 6-foot-6, 300-pound tackle at one of the west's premier football junior colleges, there was never much of a chance that he would go overlooked.
Then, Bethel knows that. He always has. It's why the Arizona Western Community College standout's statements are open-ended and his opinions on schools a vague. Bethel's situation stands as the definition of a wide-open recruitment.

"No there's not a favorite, really. I'm just waiting this all out, but I'm probably going to take some visits this summer. I'll probably go to Texas Tech, USF and probably visit Florida and Florida State. Maybe FIU and Arizona State, too."
Bethel's potential visit list is the product of a mix of factors. Some schools he plans to tour are ones he's had interest in for years. Others are programs that have piqued his interest only recently.
Then, there are the two programs Bethel says are recruiting him the hardest at this juncture.
"Texas Tech and Arizona State are probably talking to me the most," Bethel said. They're coming the hardest. I don't know a lot about either yet, but I'm finding out more. I'll probably visit both."
Bethel says he intends to wait until the conclusion of his junior college season to make a verbal commitment. The availability of playing time will play a factor in his decision as it does with most community college prospects, but Bethel says it is not the most important factor.
"it's probably more about just where I fit in and which school has the best academic support," he said.
