Butler talks some early favorites

Stanford continues to aggressively recruit Treyjohn Butler and the four-star cornerback from Etiwanda, Calif., seems really appreciative that he's receiving so much attention.
The Cardinal is one of the favorites for Butler but he said it's still early in his recruitment and he probably won't have a top list until this summer.

"It's pretty big because it's one of my top schools," Butler said of Stanford. "I've been talking to the coaching staff each week along with the ASU and Cal coaches so it's going to be a top contender for my decision.
"Basically, they've been trying to explain their whole school to me. They send tons of mail to the house and they're always sending information and different links to check out. The head coach, the DB coach and all the other assistants have been talking to me and explaining their demeanor and all that stuff."
Stanford has made a big impression and Arizona State will have its chance soon. The four-star prospect is expected to visit Tempe next weekend and he's excited to see what ASU has to offer.
"I talk to coach (Chris) Ball every few days and keep up with him," Butler said. "I'm supposed to go down there during my spring break which is next weekend with my father and check the school out."
LSU and Wisconsin have stepped up interest with Butler but he's not sure if either school is ready to offer yet. Northwestern has offered and has been really aggressive with the four-star.
"A school that I already have an offer from that's pushing really hard with the recruiting process is Northwestern," Butler said. "They've put in a lot of effort to influence me."
As for a decision timetable, Butler is not there yet.
"It's too early for me right now," Butler said. "I'm looking to finish the spring out, move forward to the summer and cut down to an official top three and then go from there."
