Butler talks opening offer

Treyjohn Butler recently received his first offer and it came as a complete surprise.
The 2016 cornerback from Etiwanda, Calif., has done well at numerous events this off-season - especially the RCS Southern California and the Pylon Sports 7on7 in Las Vegas - but to get an offer this early was something Butler did not expect.

After the Cal coaches talked with the coaches at Etiwanda, Butler landed his first offer and he's definitely interested early on in the Golden Bears.
"That one was direct contact to my school," Butler said. "I am very excited about it. They went and talked to my head coach and the offer came. I was completely surprised."
The 5-foot-10, 182-pound standout said he knows Cal had a difficult season but he's still very open to playing there because it's a great academic and athletic mix.
"They had a tough season but it's still a good school," Butler said. "The education there is really good. The program is building. It's still early for a visit. I want to see how things go and then I'll decide."
Plenty of interest is coming in for the Etiwanda standout as well.
Butler said he's hearing from Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA and Washington. The 2016 cornerback said he's also planning some summer camp trips and wants to remain open to all possibilities since his recruitment is still early.
"I'm planning to head to UCLA and USC and I want to head up to Stanford this summer," Butler said.
"I'm all open right now."
