Butler keeps open mind

Mesquite (Texas) West Mesquite three-star cornerback Josh Butler has attracted scholarship offers from across the country.
Notre Dame, Baylor, Clemson, Michigan State, Texas A&M, and UCLA are just a sampling of the offers currently on the table, and the 5-foot-10, 162-pound defensive back is taking in all the attention.

He has not taken any visits this spring and right now he does not have any visits scheduled. It is not that he does not want to take any visits, it is just that he has not been able to do so at this time. He does have a few he would like to take soon though.
"Michigan State, Boise, Miami, Tennessee," Butler said.
Are the four schools at the top of his list?
"No sir, those are just the schools trying to get me down to visit right now," Butler said.
Does he have any schools at the top of his list?
"Not right now, I have to visit first and see how it is on campus," Butler said.
He may not have any favorite schools, but one school is showing him more attention than any of the others.
"Utah," Butler said. "It's just the coach. He wants to get to know me a lot. He always writes me letters and tries to get to know me as a person."
Butler also has an idea about when he would like to make a decision.
"This summer," Butler said.
He also knows what he is looking for in a future college program.
"The kind of defense they play, teamwork, and how good the offense is because I want to win championships too," Butler said.
Butler is currently ranked No. 37 among the nation's cornerbacks and No. 55 in the Rivals.com Texas Preseason Top 100. He earned first-team all-district honors as a junior.
