Butler has four schools on his list

Detroit (Mich.) Renaissance standout Carson Butler was a varsity starter for Lansing Waverly his sophomore season, playing fullback. But due to state transfer rules, Butler did not play football at Renaissance his junior year.
But recruiters are still quite familiar with the 6-foot-6 and 235 pound Butler.

"I'm mostly being recruited as an outside linebacker or defensive end," Butler said. "I'm mostly looking at Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, and Wisconsin."
"Most of them wanted me to come to one day camps. They said they would be able to offer me. But I didn't have transportation so I didn't go to any camps this summer."
"I'm going to visit Michigan at the end of the month. And Michigan State sometime in August."
"Michigan is probably number one right now. They have a dominant football program. They said I would be able to play both football and basketball."
Butler said he is still waiting on his first scholarship offer. He has a 2.9 GPA and will take his test in the Fall.
