Busy times for Lodge

It is almost decision day for Cedar Hill, Texas Rivals100 wide receiver DaMarkus Lodge.
Just a few more days and the questions about where he will go to college will stop. There will be no more visits and the phone just may stop ringing for a little bit.

It has been a fun process. It has been a learning experience. And now it is nearing an end and Lodge is just as he started with a big smile on his face.
He will make his decision on Signing Day, but before he does he has plenty to think about.
He recently returned from his official visit to Ole Miss. The Rebels are the program many speculate to be his leader and Lodge enjoyed his time in Oxford. It was a return trip to Ole Miss, and his host was longtime friend and former Cedar Hill teammate Quincy Adeboyejo.
He has already taken a few visits to other college campuses by now, and they all kind of blend together after a little while. However, there is a very big important aspect about Ole Miss that has always been favorable.
"Every trip is the same really. You get to walk around the campus and see things, visit the education departments, and hang out with the players. The only thing different are the players," Lodge said. "Some teams are like family, some teams you can tell they're about themselves and don't care about each other. There's really nothing too different down there at Ole Miss. It's just a brotherhood down there at Ole Miss. Those guys really care. I enjoyed myself."
The Ole Miss Rebels are not the only school who has given him plenty to think about in the last week. Before he took his official visit to Ole Miss, Lodge made a surprise trip to Texas.
"Well I know about coach Strong and his staff and what he did at Louisville with his offensive coordinator and the offense they ran and the guys they had there and how they developed them," Lodge said. "We looked at it and Kyler (Murray) called me up and said let's roll out to Texas tomorrow. I was like alright I'll give these guys a chance. So we went down there and went over the offense. We sat down and talked about it and got on the board. It's a perfect fit. It could be perfect but they don't have a quarterback right now so if they can land Kyler that would be huge."
Another school high on his list as he approaches Signing Day is Texas A&M. The Aggies also received a January official visit.
"I mean it felt good," Lodge said. "It's always good going to College Station. The people down there are great. The whole environment down there is great. I got to link up with the new receivers coach, coach Moorehead, and he was pretty cool. I looked him up and he has a great background and he looks like he knows what he's doing. Those guys will never be out of it. It's a school I've always loved and always wanted to attend. We'll just see what happens."
Lodge has already taken official visits to USC, LSU, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss, and with one visit left and one weekend left, he is looking at taking one final official visit.
"Well since I came with Kyler on their time I think [Texas] counted it as an official for me," Lodge said. "So I don't know if I'll be able to go down there on an official this weekend. But I wanted to."
Texas and Lodge remain in contact and are trying to figure out if he can take a visit or not. If he cannot take a visit to Texas he does not plan to take a visit anywhere.
Whether he gets to take a final visit or not, the plan is to make his announcement on Signing Day. He does not have it all figured out just yet, but he is looking forward to making his decision on Feburary 4.
