Bussey rates Illinois visit a perfect 10

Washington (D.C.) Dunbar athlete Nathan Bussey made the trip to Champaign this week for an official visit to Illinois. The 6-foot-2, 202-pounder enjoyed his trip to Illinois despite witnessing their loss to Iowa.
"It was a great visit and I had a good time," he said. "I got up there on Saturday morning and I ate and then talked to a few of the players. I was able to hang out with Vontae Davis, Derrick McPhearson and Tremayne Walker. Derrick was my host and they all basically told me how the program is and how reliable and fun the coaches are.

"I was also able to talk to the coaches including mostly coach Locksley. He talked to me about my major, communications and how their program is one of the best in the country. He also discussed me at safety as did coach Zook. They both basically said that their safeties are leaving and they'd need me to come in and play."
While on the trip, Bussey took in the game between the Illini and Hawkeyes.
"The game was good," he said. "They did some things that could have helped them beat Iowa, but it's a learning process. I thought they played well and I had a good time watching the game."
Overall the three-star prospect rated his trip a perfect 10.
"I'd give it that, just for the fact I got to learn a lot of new things and meet the players. I felt very comfortable there and it was a great environment." I just felt at home."
With an excellent visit to Illinois behind him, is Bussey any closer to deciding?
"I think I'll be making my decision pretty soon," he said. "I still feel that Illinois is leading, but I'm gong to wait and see what else comes through as far as college offers.
"I am still considering going on an official to Connecticut. I'm not sure if and when I'll go on that, but we'll see when I can get up there."
