Burton talks Big 10 trip

Brandon Burton suffered a season-ending loss on Friday but the Gardena (Calif.) Serra standout was back on the road at Ohio State this past weekend and had a great time.
The Buckeyes lost but Burton saw a lot to like in Columbus.

"I had a really good time out there," Burton said. "Unfortunately, they lost but I got to see a really good game and I got to sit down and meet with all the coaches and see where I stand with them.
"They were pretty much telling me they need me to come in and play safety because they're losing Vonn Bell and Tyvis (Powell) could be gone next year and they don't have many other players to step up into those spots."
The four-star who could also play wide receiver said it was great spending time with the players and the coaches. The game-day environment at Ohio State was something special, too, and could be a factor as his recruitment continues.
"The whole program is really close," Burton said. "They lose one game like every four years so that says a lot about that place and the coaching staff.
"The Horseshoe is one of the loudest stadiums. It's packed with more than 100,000 people every single game."
So far, Burton has visited Ohio State, Florida State, Notre Dame and Oklahoma. He said Arizona, Cal and UCLA are in the running for his final official visit. USC could also emerge in his recruitment if the new coaching staff shows interest in him.
Sources say UCLA could have an edge in his recruitment but Burton is definitely doing his due diligence by taking all his visits.
