Burton excited for FSU visit

Brandon Burton has scheduled his first official visit and he's thrilled about it, the first step as the Gardena (Calif.) Serra prospect figures out his recruitment.
The four-star who could play wide receiver or safety in college will visit Florida State in early October when the Seminoles host Miami. It's a big trip for Burton, who has been recruited by the Seminoles for years.

"It was exciting because it's one of the places I'm really looking at to go," Burton said.
"I know it's one of the places that really came after me when I was a freshman. It was my second offer. It's really exciting to know I locked in a visit to a team that has been there for me since Day 1."
It is also an important visit because Burton's close friend is Florida State's five-star quarterback commit Malik Henry, who recently transferred to Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy from Westlake Village (Calif.) Westlake.
With Henry locked in for the Seminoles, Burton said it definitely plays a major role in his recruitment and how he thinks of Florida State moving forward.
"That's a big factor because I grew up with him," Burton said. "He's kind of like my best friend so that is big-time knowing he's going there and knowing a guy I know is going to be there."
Other trips are being worked on. The Serra prospect also plans to take official visits to Alabama, Oklahoma and Ohio State along with an undetermined Pac-12 school. It could be one of the locals or someplace else but Burton does plan to take a Pac-12 trip before making a commitment.
"I'm still looking at the Pac-12 one to see which school I'm going to go to," Burton said.
