Burton claims no favorites yet

There have been plenty of rumors that USC and Stanford have emerged as favorites for Brandon Burton but the four-star said last week that's not necessarily the case.
The Gardena (Calif.) Serra standout who plays wide receiver and safety said at the Elite 50 Experience in Orlando that he wants to remain open to all programs and that he's looking for two specific things when considering all his schools.

"It's been kind of quiet especially with it being the holidays," Burton said. "A lot of coaches are with their families. That's pretty much it right now.
"It's not really fair to say (that USC and Stanford are the leaders). I'm going to keep all my options open because you never know what door could open up anywhere. I just have to make sure I'm going to look at every school the same right now."
The four-star prospect has landed early offers from Arizona State, California, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, Stanford, UCLA, USC and Utah.
Before Burton starts naming frontrunners, he wants to figure out two things about each school recruiting him.
"I'm going to look at academics first," Burton said. "I'm trying to get to a position where I could graduate in three years so I look at what program can offer me that and then I'll look at how early I can play on the team.
"Some schools are saying wide receiver, some schools are saying safety and I know Stanford and Colorado are saying both. I'm still trying to get my feel on both positions. I played wide receiver out here and (in the Under Armour game) I'll probably play some safety and receiver."
In his junior season, Burton finished with 39 tackles and two interceptions.
