Burney has pair of upcoming visits

Amari Burney names no leaders in the process. That’s pretty much been a constant for the Clearwater (Fla.) Central Catholic athlete. He has no frontrunner and no idea when he intends to name one. What he does have, however, are a pair of visits on his upcoming schedule.

“Coming up, I’m going to Florida’s camp, Friday Night Lights,” Burney said. “It’s just Florida camp and a visit to Clemson. That’s what I know about right now.”

Burney lists offers from the Gators and Tigers in addition to a number of other major schools. So while he intends to take just two visits in the immediate future, there are other programs involved. Still, ask Burney which school he talks to the most, and he spouts off a familiar name.

“It’s Florida,” Burney said. “I definitely talk to them more than anyone.”

Burney, who still awaits an offer from Clemson, has set no timetable for a decision. In fact, he leaves things on that front as vague as he does with most things as they relate to his recruitment.

“I’ll do it when the time is right,” Burney said. “It could be any time. When I feel like I’m ready, I’ll do it.”

IN HIS WORDS “Florida is recruiting me as an athlete,” Burney said. “Michigan wants me to play safety. All the rest wants me at wide receiver.”

Rivals Reaction: Florida seems to be the leader to land Burney, but Michigan seems to sit in an extremely close second. Should a Clemson offer materialize, the Tigers could push the Gators and Wolverines.
