Burnett still strong in pledge

Deontay Burnett is hearing from some other programs but the Gardena (Calif.) Serra wide receiver is more focused on his senior season and keeping his commitment to Washington State.
The three-star who averages about 19 yards per reception so far this season was supposed to take a visit to Pullman recently but he had to re-schedule until later this month when the Cougars host Washington.

"I'm just committed to Washington State right now," Burnett said.
"I did schedule my visit for (last) weekend but I had to re-schedule it for later on. I'm going on November 28 when they play Washington."
The Serra receiver who has been committed to Washington State since mid-July has also been offered by Miami, Utah and Colorado State.
Burnett has had a lot of communication with Utah in recent months but the three-star said at this point he's not concerned with other official visits.
The 6-foot, 168-pound receiver could take other trips but it won't be for some time leading up to National Signing Day. First, he wants to finish off his senior season.
"I'm not sure yet about other visits," Burnett said. "If I don't take any during the season I'll take some after it."
UCLA position coach Eric Yarber has been reaching out a little bit in recent weeks and Burnett said he's interested but it hasn't gotten too serious yet.
"It's been pretty quiet," Burnett said. "I have been hearing from coach Yarber at UCLA but that's pretty much it. He's basically waiting on some other receivers."
