Burkhalter looking for other options

Some times patience isn't a virtue, especially in the recruiting process.
Just a month ago, Eufalua, Okla., two-star safety/quarterback Travis Burkhalter had scholarships from Colorado State, Wyoming and Tulsa, plus Texas A&M was interested in him. But he waited to schedule his official visits and now things have taken a sudden turn for the worse.

"I guess I waited too long," Burkhalter, who is 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, said. "I wanted to wait until later in January to take some visits, but I've now been told the teams that had offered me are now full and I don't have scholarships from them anymore.
"Tulsa told me first come, first serve and Colorado State had a similar story. I don't blame them, but I wish I would have known that waiting isn't always a good thing."
At this point, the only team that has remained in contact is Louisiana-Monroe, the school he visits this weekend.
"I'll go check them out and see what they're like," he said. "I was kind of hoping to go to a bigger school, but it's good to see that they're still interested in me."
