Burkett adds more offers

Toledo (Ohio) Saint John's two-star offensive lineman Ben Burkett already had some nice offers on the table from Akron, Ball State, Miami of Ohio and Toledo. Now that he's progressed through his senior season, it looks like more teams have entered the fray.
Burkett, who is 6-foot-4 and 294 pounds, has added offers from Cincinnati, Central Michigan and Northwestern.

"I've talked to Northwestern quite a bit," Burkett said. "Ball State has been calling me every week. I've talked to Purdue almost once a week. I'd probably say Northwestern is my top team."
At this point, Burkett has not lined up any official visits, but he does have an idea on who he wants to visit.
"I haven't looked into the visits much yet, but I will sometime soon," he said. "I want to visit Northwestern, maybe Purdue and Miami of Ohio. I'm not quite sure yet about others."
He even didn't rule out that he could commit on a Northwestern official visit.
"It might be the right place," he said. "I really don't have a time frame yet for a commitment. I'm just going to wait and see. It could be tomorrow. It could be who knows when. My family really likes Northwestern because you get to play Big Ten football."
The season is off to a great start for Burkett.
"We're 5-1 right now," he said. "Personally I didn't come out as well as I hoped to the first couple games. But I've been doing pretty good the last two or three games. We've really picked it up."
