Linebacker Kevin Burgess out of Washington (D.C.) Dunbar claims a verbal offer from the Big Ten. The 6-foot-2, 203-pounder is awaiting word on an official as well as offers from other schools.
"I get letters from a lot of places," he said. "I hear from the coaches at Eastern Michigan, Illinois and East Carolina.
"Illinois has offered me a verbal scholarship so far. They are still going through their evaluation, but they love me and want my tape.
"Eastern Michigan is going to have a meeting and they'd let my coach know the situation from there."
Does the two-star prospect like anybody?
"I've only been in touch with Illinois and Eastern Michigan. I like the ones who are showing me love," he said. "I do plan to send my tape to other schools this season including Maryland, ECU, Richmond and Pittsburgh."
Burgess mentioned the possibility of visiting Maryland and Illinois in the near future.
Burgess posted 160 tackles, seven sacks and five fumble recoveries as a junior.
