Class of 2015 Coconut Creek (Fla.) athlete Shawn Burgess-Becker recently took a tour across the Southeast that included stops at Florida State and LSU. While he's far from deciding, he had plenty to say about the two schools.
"Tallahassee, the campus is nice and it's got a nice city around it," he said. "There are a lot of hotels and stuff like that. It's a great atmosphere inside the stadium, too."
Burgess-Becker worked out for the Seminoles coaches and received good feedback, but he didn't get the one thing he was hoping for -- an offer.

"The receivers coach said they liked my performance," he said. "But they haven't offered and this is one I would like to have."
Because he's spent most of the past two weeks on the road, Burgess-Becker said, his contact with coaches over the phone has been limited. However, he spent quality time with the Tigers staff in Baton Rouge.
"LSU is nice," Burgess-Becker said. "It's hot out there. I got to talk to [defensive backs] Coach [Corey] Raymond; he's a good guy. I took in a lot of information, and I think I learned some things that will help me out during the season."
Many schools like Burgess-Becker as a safety, but he lit up the offseason circuit at wide receiver. He said the LSU coaches are split on where he might fit at the next level.
"I talked to the coaches, and they were kind of having a little fight; one wanted me on offense, and the other wanted me on defense," he said. "At the end of the day they say it's going to be my choice, but wherever I think will help the team, that's where I'll play."
