Burge adds first Big 12 offer

Houston Stratford defensive tackle Jimmy Burge went from one scholarship offer to two this week.
After receiving one earlier this month from Fresno State, the 6-foot-2, 275-pounder says that he's now added one from his first Big 12 school – Missouri. That is a school that Burge says he has connections to and is very interested in.

"I'm a big fan of Missouri, I was born there and my dad graduated from there," Burge said. "They have brand new facilities and everything. They have done better lately than they have done in years past. They're going to be a good football team in the next couple of years."
Burge says he plans to take an unofficial visit to Missouri within the next few weeks. Texas A&M was the previous leader in the last update and Burge says that remains the same.
"Yeah, they're just ahead of Missouri if I had to choose right now," Burge said about A&M. "I'm going to wait a little while to see if anything opens up at A&M, but I'm really excited about Missouri. I'm still going to consider schools like TCU and Northwestern as well."
As for when he'll make a decision, this Houston-area prospect says he's not going to let the process run into the season.
"I'll have a decision made at least by mid-summer," he said. "It will definitely be before the season starts this fall."
