Bulls lead for McWilliams

Hampton (Ga.) Lovejoy junior defensive back Rico McWilliams has never visited USF, but that hasn't kept the Bulls from making a strong impression.
In fact, he currently has USF on top.

"Me and the coaches, we talk like two times a week," McWilliams said. "We talk real good. We talk family. When I need someone to talk to, I give [USF assistant Steve Shankweiler] a call. I just love coach."
One advantage for USF is this: Thus far, the Bulls are the only team to have offered. That, however, might be about to change, McWilliams predicted.
According to the 6-foot, 170-pounder, he also is hearing from Clemson, Florida State, Kentucky, Tennessee and Wake Forest. McWilliams visited Clemson two weeks ago and also has made a trip to Wake Forest.
"The best so far was Clemson," McWilliams said. "I just liked the atmosphere and the people there. I had a good time out there. I was there for like seven hours. They showed me the place where all the football players stay. It was nice out there."
McWilliams said his next offer could come from Clemson or Tennessee.
"It'll probably be one of those two I think," he said. "Maybe Clemson. They wanted me to come up real bad and meet the whole coaching staff. "
Next up for McWilliams is a visit to USF next week.
"I'm going to their spring game," McWilliams said. "I'm going to see how the defense looks and what kind of defense they run. And I'm going down to meet the whole coaching staff."
