Bulldogs, Cowboys offer Miss. RB

Horn Lake (Miss.) running back Brandon Jackson has picked up his first two scholarship offers.
“Mississippi State and Oklahoma State have offered,” he said. “We started spring practice on Monday, and their coaches were by here to watch. Auburn and Michigan State came, too. Coach said they may be close to offering.”

Jackson (6-0, 220, 4.43) said he’s also been receiving interest from Michigan, Nebraska, Georgia and Florida, among a host of other schools.
“Michigan is my favorite,” he said. “I was born in Detroit. I’ve just been down here in Mississippi for 5-6 years, but I’m still a huge Wolverine fan. I love Michigan football.”
Does that mean an offer from the maize and blue would end his recruitment?
“It might,” he said. “That would be hard to pass up. But I’m trying to stay open to everyone right now and see what these other schools are all about.”
Jackson listed his top five as Michigan, Michigan State, Florida, Oklahoma State and Mississippi State. He hasn’t finalized summer camp plans, but hopes to attend the Nike combine at Auburn in May.
As a junior, he rushed for 1,770 yards and 28 touchdowns to earn Class 5A all-state honors. But those stats just scratch the surface of the story behind Jackson’s potential. It’s his physical makeup that really makes scouts drool. In addition to his 4.43 forty, he has a 10.6 100-meter time to his credit, bench-presses 400 pounds and squats 600.
