Buffs patience pays off

When he returned from his official visit to Utah on Sunday, the Colorado Buffalo coaches were sitting in the living room, waiting for DeSoto, Texas, three-star athlete Patrick Williams to return home. When he finally returned, their patience definitely paid off.
That’s because Williams, who is 6-foot-2 and 194 pounds, committed to the Buffs during the in-home visit, according to DeSoto coach Dave Meadows.
“He came in this morning and told us all about it,” Meadows said. “I think Colorado is an excellent fit for him. He can go up there and be a very good receiver for them. With his body and speed, he should be able to make the transition to the next level very easily.”
Williams was set up to visit Missouri this weekend but according to Meadows, that visit has been canceled and he won’t take anymore trips. Williams is ranked as the nation’s No. 33 athlete by, and he visited Colorado back for the Nebraska game.
This season Williams rushed for 497 yards and five scores. He threw for 205 yards and also had nine receptions for 90 yards.
“He’s a hell of an athlete,” Meadows said.
