Buffs offer athlete Rutland

The pipeline between the University of Colorado and North Shore High School could be reopening.
Former Mustangs Cedric Cormier, Andre Gurode (Dallas Cowboys) and Rawle King all had college careers at Colorado and another may be on the way.

Utility player Kevin Rutland was officially offered by the Buffaloes this week, projecting as a defensive back. Rutland (6-foot-0, 180 pounds) was used as quarterback and wide-out by the Mustangs who ran the table in the regular season.
"He has another gear and he's got size," North Shore defensive coordinator John Kay said. "He has great potential."
Rutland was offered by Kansas State prior to the season after wowing the Wildcat staff during a one-day camp.
"I liked Kansas State but I wanted to see if I would get anymore offers," Rutland said.
Sure enough, he did and more may be coming.
