Buckram and family have favorite

When you play for Copperas Cove, Texas, everybody comes pumped up to play for you. That's why all-purpose back Donald Buckram will take a win any way that his team can get it.
"I only had 54 yards rushing, but we beat Converse Judson, so I don't care," Buckram, who is 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds, said.

"I did fumble one time, and that frustrated me, but I had some good blocking and they opened up some holes for me. It was tough running because Judson is a very good team."
Buckram said he's not talked to any college coaches yet, but the UTEP assistant coach called and left a voice mail on his cell phone.
"He told me he'd be by school on Thursday to check us out," Buckram said. "I have an offer from UTEP and Tulsa, so it was good to know that they're thinking about you still."
Buckram said he and his family do have a favorite college choice, though.
"I really like Baylor in both football and in track," he said. "My dad wants me to go there. Coach Morris talked to me last spring and told me that if I work hard this season then an offer would be there for me."
Buckram said he watched South Carolina State, Texas and New Mexico State on television on Saturday.
