Buckner getting plenty of attention

Things don't slow down for top junior prospects like wide receiver Dan Buckner.
The 6-foot-5, 200-pound Allen, Texas prospect has already ushered in a handful of scholarship offers since the beginning of his junior season. Now, in the off-season, college coaches are making stops by the high school. Several of those came in today to see the talented 2008 prospect.

"I think today there were coaches from Texas A&M, Indiana, SMU, Oklahoma, and a coach from Louisville," Buckner said. "It was Bob Stoops from OU and Stan Eggen and Dennis Franchione from Texas A&M.
"I couldn't really say much other than hello to them, but they watched me workout."
Buckner has also received a junior day invitation that he plans to make later this month.
"I got invited to Texas' junior day on Feb. 11," Buckner said. "I spoke with coach Mack Brown about coming down there and I'm hoping to get an offer from them then. Being a Texas kid, that's would be nice to get an offer from a school like that."
Buckner says that currently he has scholarship offers from Baylor, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Rice, Boston College, and SMU.
"I've got a few more coming, but some schools just want to wait until after Signing Day," Buckner said. "Hopefully after that, I'll be getting a few more in my hand."
