Buckeye offer has Kirby excited

Dondi Kirby had a pretty good idea that Ohio State would be offering him a scholarship going into this weekend, but the news excited him nonetheless.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound cornerback from Monroeville (Pa.) Gateway attended Ohio State's spring game with his high school coach and his teammate Armstead Williams.

Last week Williams spoke to Rivals.com about their upcoming visit and mentioned that he expected that Kirby would be picking up an offer from the Buckeyes. As it turns out he was right.
"The whole trip was great," Kirby explained. "The coach showed me around the whole campus and took me to the field. They showed me around everything and it was just great.
"When I got out there I left to go somewhere with my position coach and they (Ohio State) told my head coach they were offering. Then he told me."
Does the offer from the Buckeyes change anything as far as recruiting is concerned?
"Right now I really don't have a top school but that's something big," he said of the offer. "It was really great."
Kirby said he hopes he can attend Ohio State's spring game this weekend.
Iowa and North Carolina were the two most recent offers for Kirby prior to Ohio State's. The Hawkeyes' came in last week and the Tar Heels' came in the week before that.
"I'm trying to get out (to those schools) as soon as possible," he noted.
Kirby plans on taking his official visits after his senior season and making his decision then.
