Bucannon picks up Pac-10 offer

David Bucannon picked up his first offer from Washington State and that's especially important because his brother, Deone, signed with the Cougars in the 2010 recruiting class so that could play a factor moving forward.
Bucannon is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound safety from Vacaville (Calif.) Vanden who is also hearing from Colorado, Colorado State and Tennessee. He finished with 108 tackles in his junior season and also was used as a wide receiver where he caught three touchdown passes..

"He talked with coach Chris Ball (Tuesday night) and they offered," Vanden coach LeVon Haynes said in an e-mail.
"They love him and really like the way he plays. I think it's a great blessing for him and his family.
"Who knows, Deone and David may end up on the field at the same time, something that they didn't get a chance to do in high school. I talked to coach Ball last night after he talked to David and he said David was 'fired up.'"
Playing with his brother at Washington State is a possibility now for Bucannon, something to consider as his recruitment continues to pick up.
Rivals.com rated Deone Bucannon, a three-star prospect, as the No. 45 safety nationally and No. 85 in the California state rankings. He picked the Cougars over offers from Army, Cal Poly, Nevada and San Diego State.
