Bryant names top school

Three star athlete / dual-threat quarterback Jamar Bryant from Rockingham (N.C.) Richmond County took his first official over the weekend and had a very good visit. Although not ready to make a commitment, the Clemson Tigers earned Brownie points with him…and with his parents.
“Jamar told me that this was his first pick out of the top schools, but he wants to see all of them,” commented Jamar’s mother, Willa Bonds. “If it were left up to me I would, well be would be going to Clemson.”

Although football is important to the whole family, it is the academic side of the university that really appeals to Bryant’s mother.
“I went with him (on the visit), and it was just the academics, and they guaranteed he would graduate and get a degree.” He plans to major in computer science.
Bryant's family will also accompany him on his remaining visits, trips to Georgia on Jan. 16, North Carolina on Jan. 23, and NC State on Jan. 30. He will take all of his visits before making a final decision.
Bryant is rated the No. 31 athlete in the country by Rivals.com. He is 6-foot-3, weighs 193 pounds, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds
