Three-star cornerback Myles Bryant gained some clarity in recent weeks and said he is serious about two Pac-12 schools.
The 5-foot-9, 165-pound prospect from Los Angeles Loyola has been in constant communication with coaches at UCLA and Washington, and those two programs are really standing out. Colorado is also in the conversation and Bryant said an official visit to see the Buffaloes is still possible, but the Bruins and Huskies have built a good lead in recent weeks.
WHAT'S NEXT?: Bryant would like to schedule his official visit to see the Huskies take on either Oregon or Washington State. He was at the Rose Bowl last weekend to watch UCLA beat BYU and said a return trip to Colorado could work if he is able to fit it into his schedule. Bryant doesn't anticipate making a decision during the season.
IN HIS WORDS: "UCLA was a pretty big offer and something I really wanted," Bryant told Rivals.com. "It's really down to them and Washington. They both would be pretty equal in terms of playing time and academically. I want to major in business.
"We'll see how much free time I have, so maybe I'll visit (Colorado), too. For Washington, it could be for the Washington State or Oregon game. The city of Seattle is great; there is a lot you can do up there. Coach (Chris) Petersen and (Jimmy) Lake are really good coaches and they care about developing you off the field, too. They are building you for life and they care for their players. I feel they're going to be an upcoming program to watch for."
RIVALS' REACTION: The Bruins are the local team and Bryant said he has built a good relationship with defensive backs coach Demetrice Martin as well as receivers coach Eric Yarber. But the Huskies have made a big impression on him and, if UCLA decides to hold off on taking commitments from cornerbacks until later, Washington should be considered the favorite to land Bryant.
