Brunson gets 1st offer, wants more

It took longer than junior offensive guard Joseph Brunson of Ruston (La.) had hoped, but he never doubted he would eventually land an FBS offer.
"I knew it would happen," Brunson said. "I thought it was just a matter of time."

On Monday, Brunson finally got the news he was waiting to hear, when Memphis offered.
"The first I heard from them was probably the Wednesday before last," the 6-foot-3, 300-pounder said. "They came by the school."
From there, things rapidly progressed.
"I talked to Coach [Blake] Miller, the offensive line coach," Brunson said. "He also recruits this region. He told me he'd be back down to watch practice, and then he came by again last Friday. He told me he wanted to make me an offer but had to clear it with the head coach first. He went back to Memphis, they talked it over and he called me [Monday night] with an offer."
Now, Brunson hopes more offers are on the way.
"I think this first offer is going to get it on a roll," Brunson said. "I'm also hearing from LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, Tulane and Louisiana-Lafayette. LSU has been by. Mississippi State came by today. Missouri came by today. U-LL came by yesterday, along with Northwestern and Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Maybe Mississippi State [will be next to offer] or somebody like that. I've been in contact a lot with them. And also LSU. There are a lot of schools that want me to come to their camps."
Brunson expects to have a busy summer.
"Right now, I plan on going to LSU, Mississippi State, U-LL, Memphis, Texas A&M and Louisiana Tech," Brunson said.
